Together with distributor Carepa, the Duni Group is launching the Relevo digital reusable system in Sweden. Using an app, consumers can easily borrow and return take-away containers - an offer that fulfils the new sustainability requirements in the out-of-home sector.

The Duni Group has now also launched its Relevo digital reusable system on the Swedish food service market. In cooperation with wholesaler Carepa, the system is intended to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions. Relevo is already established as the market leader in Germany and offers a digital deposit-free model where customers can borrow reusable takeaway containers via an app and return them to any participating locations.

Since January 2024, companies in Sweden have been obliged to provide reusable options if they consume more than 150 disposable containers per day. Relevo is designed to help companies implement these requirements efficiently. According to the Duni Group, the system is designed in such a way that it can be integrated into existing processes without disruption.

Cooperation with Carepa

Carepa, a leading supplier of consumables for the catering, office and retail sectors, is supporting the launch of Relevo in Sweden. Aaron Sperl, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Relevo, explained that Sweden is an important market for sustainable innovation. Together with Carepa, the aim is to make reuse simple and attractive.

Carepa also sees an opportunity in the partnership: Chief Operating Officer Johan Ludvigsson emphasised that the company wants to offer its customers sustainable products and solutions. With Relevo, the company can provide a complete offering that both facilitates compliance with legal requirements and contributes to greater sustainability.

Digital return process as the key

A central element of Relevo is the digital return process. This is designed to ensure that containers are actually reused and waste is reduced. The app and a partner platform ensure that both consumers and businesses have an uncomplicated solution.

By entering the Swedish market, the Duni Group is strengthening its position in the field of sustainable packaging solutions. The company intends to support the catering industry with both disposable and reusable solutions in future.
