Durst and Koenig & Bauer want to be successful together in the market for single-pass printing systems for the folding carton and corrugated board industry in the future. To this end, they have now officially founded a joint company and announced details of the co-operation.
By the end of May, the new "Koenig & Bauer Durst GmbH" based in Würzburg will commence operations. Prior to this, the competition authorities still have to approve the cooperation between Durst and Koenig & Bauer. The establishment of the equal joint venture was officially sealed on 10 April 2019. Both partners had already announced their intention to cooperate in January. reported.

Both companies contribute their own products to the joint venture
The partners involved will initially bring their products "Koenig & Bauer CorruJET 170" and "Thirst SPC 130" model. Services and the ink business as well as the development of the "VariJET 106" are part of the joint venture's portfolio.
Christoph Gamper, CEO of the Durst Group, describes the objectives of the cooperation as follows: "We want to work efficiently and decisively towards a common goal - to tap into the huge potential in the packaging industry with digital production lines." Claus Bolza-SchünemannCEO of Koenig & Bauer AG, agrees with his colleague: "I am convinced that the joint venture will benefit from the spirit of both companies and that something very special is being created here."
Two traditional companies join forces
Two heavyweights are merging parts of their business activities.
