The German Packaging Institute e. V. (dvi) invites you to the 19th German Packaging Congress in Berlin on 14 March 2024. Under the motto „Packaging 2024: Shaping Europe's future“, executives from companies including Nestlé, Kellogg's, Procter & Gamble, Mondelez, Metsä Group, IKEA, R-Cycle and WWF will discuss key topics in the industry together with start-up founders and managers from the value chain.
"2024 will be an important year for packaging“ emphasises dvi Managing Director Kim Cheng. „This concerns not only the topic of sustainability and the circular economy, but also digitalisation and the use of artificial intelligence, new approaches through start-ups and innovation, collaboration in the value chain and the effects of the current crisis factors, from war and energy to inflation and economic concerns. Therefore, at our industry summit look beyond the megatopic of sustainability and cover the entire spectrum as far as possible,“ says Cheng.
A good two months before the European elections in June 2024, there will of course also be the European perspective and the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) are casting their shadows ahead, says the dvi Managing Director. „However, we don't just want to shed light on national and European regulations, but also scrutinise them, which transformations are fundamentally possible and necessary. With its products and services, the packaging industry is part of the critical infrastructure and a decisive factor and player when it comes to the future of Europe. We want to do justice to this,“ says Kim Cheng.
Programme items and line-up
In addition to keynote speeches and dialogue formats, the programme of the 19th German Packaging Congress on 14 March 2024 also includes Best practice examples and a start-up panel. The industry summit will conclude with an evening event for networking and personal dialogue.
The congress line-up on the lecture and panel side includes top representatives from Nestlé, Kellogg's, Procter & Gamble, Mondelez, Metsä Group, IKEA, R-Cycle, Futury and WWF. On the political side, alongside Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection, Steffi Lemke, Judith Skudelny, spokesperson for environmental and consumer protection policy for the FDP parliamentary group, has already confirmed her participation in the event.
The dvi has already opened registration for the 19th German Packaging Congress on 14 March 2024 on its website. The special conditions for early bookers are valid until the end of 2023.
