Ecocool is expanding its range of transport refrigeration packaging and will be launching a completely new product line with sustainable packaging solutions from the summer.
Ecocool and Freshpacking cooperate
The two partners are currently building their own production line for Refrigerated packaging with ecological insulating material on. Based on pulp from paper recycling, Ecocool will be able to offer chilled packaging for food and pharmaceuticals with a proportion of almost 100% from renewable and fully recyclable raw materials from the second half of 2020.
„Our packaging solutions are characterised by outstanding thermal protection combined with high economic efficiency. In addition to this economic efficiency, we have long been committed to environmentally friendly packaging solutions. For a long time, the focus was on recyclability. In Freshpacking, we have found an ideal partner who can usefully expand our portfolio with its innovative product ideas as part of a more far-reaching ecological orientation of our solutions. With the new products, we will be able to fulfil the wishes of many customers with regard to largely dispensing with plastic components.“ Dr Florian Siedenburg. Ecocool Managing Director
Jens Bretthauer, Managing Director of Freshpacking GmbH, is also delighted with the partnership: „We are delighted to have found a strong sales partner with a great deal of experience and a large customer base in Ecocool. We hope to have laid the foundations for rapid market penetration with our innovative ideas“.

The cool dispatch box
Temperature-sensitive products such as pharmaceuticals and foodstuffs require protection from external weather influences when shipped via standard parcel services. For this purpose, Ecocool GmbH offers insulating Refrigerated packaging in combination with cooling elements from our own production. This allows the target temperature in the dispatch box to be kept stable over a defined period of time.
Ecocool already has sustainable solutions in its portfolio - for example the „Smartliner“ and „Smartcooler“ insulated packaging: Ecocool uses a non-woven material made from 80 per cent recycled PET.
„The new product line with material made from renewable raw materials will once again significantly increase the eco-balance of our packaging - and thus also reduce the carbon footprint of our customers. At the same time, the new products are characterised as usual by very good insulating properties and high price competitiveness.“ Dr Florian Siedenburg,Ecocool Managing Director
