The EcoWicketBag from packaging manufacturer Mondi has been honoured with the Gold Award at the Eurosac Grand Prix. The award is presented annually by Eurosac, the European association of manufacturers of multi-wall paper bags.
The packaging solution was chosen for its potential to reduce plastic packaging waste in the global hygiene industry. The EcoWicketBag is an innovative packaging solution. Paper-based packaging solutionwhich is an alternative to conventional plastic packaging and replaces it with recyclable paper. It is made from strong kraft paper and can be used to package a wide range of hygiene products in single or multi-packs.
"We see the EcoWicketBag as a real game changer that increases the use of paper. This development can be implemented very quickly and is in line with the goals of our industry to produce more environmentally friendly products," explained jury president Matthias Becker-Gröning.
