With decentralised drive technology and specially finished aluminium housings, Nord Drivesystems says it achieves efficiency and cost benefits in end-of-line and primary packaging.

Packaging systems must be dynamic, flexible and efficient. This is precisely where Nord Drivesystems comes in with its drive solutions: The company focuses in particular on the optimisation of end-of-line and primary packaging processes. Two technological approaches are central to this: decentralised drive technology and surface protection for aluminium housings.

Decentralised drive technology for end-of-line applications

For end-of-line packaging, Nord offers a solution consisting of decentralised frequency inverter technology and asynchronous motors. Integrating the drive electronics directly on the motor eliminates the need for complex cabling, which significantly reduces installation and maintenance costs. At the same time, the flexibility and scalability of the systems are increased.

Thanks to their high overload capacity and integrated position control using the POSICON module, the drives are particularly dynamic and precise. This results in significant cost benefits compared to conventional, centrally controlled servo systems.

Refined aluminium for hygienic requirements

In the Primary Packaging division, Nord relies on the finishing of aluminium housings with NXD tupH technology. The surfaces are treated electrolytically and coated with a resistant sealer. This protective coating is PFAS-free, complies with international food standards and offers high resistance to aggressive cleaning chemicals - ideal for use in wash-down applications, according to the Bargteheide-based company.
