The successful premiere of EMPACK Dortmund 2018 provides the organiser Easyfairs with a promising basis for the follow-up event next year. The next EMPACK Dortmund will take place on 8 and 9 May 2019 and will be expanded to include the topic of intralogistics.
With the parallel organisation of the „Logistics & Distribution“ trade fair and EMPACK as the Industry show for packaging technology both trade fairs at the Dortmund location are the „ideal guide for the future orientation of industry, trade and service providers“, organiser Easyfairs is certain. The Dortmund trade fair duo sees itself as a compact two-day trade fair where trade visitors can find exactly the solutions they are looking for in the range of products on offer. Tom Friedrich is project manager of EMPACK and Logistics & Distribution Dortmund 2019. We asked him about his goals and expectations for the new trade fair concept.
pj: How are your trade fair plans going and what are your goals for the two events in 2019?

Tom Friedrich: We consider the response to EMPACK Dortmund 2018 to be a complete success - we would like to build on this in 2019. As EMPACK Dortmund will in future be supplemented by the Logistics & Distribution intralogistics trade fair, which will take place at the same time, we will be able to Valuable synergies between packaging and intralogistics form. We expect the number of visitors and exhibitors to double. We are already registering a higher number of exhibitors than at the last trade fair, as two thirds of the available stand space has already been booked - seven months before the start of the trade fair.
pj: What is your focus and what can trade visitors expect?
Tom Friedrich: At EMPACK and Logistics & Distribution, national and international suppliers to the packaging industry will meet industry users and decision-makers from the consumer and capital goods sectors. We will have two presentation platforms, both for EMPACK and Logistics & Distribution. On these platforms, we will offer space for the latest technical solutions, products and forward-looking presentations on all aspects of the packaging industry. Packaging industry and the Intralogistics. The scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML), for example, will be there as a competence partner of the trade fair and will provide information on the latest research in the field of packaging logistics.
