Swiss packaging industry meets at Empack 2025

On 22 and 23 January 2025, Messe Zürich will once again host EMPACK, Switzerland's leading trade fair for the packaging industry.

Empack, the central Swiss trade fair for packaging solutions and technologies, will once again take place at Messe Zürich on 22 and 23 January 2025. In synergy with Logistics & Automation, which takes place at the same time, around 4,000 visitors are expected to attend to find out about the latest developments, trends and innovations in the dynamic Swiss packaging industry.

With the support of the Swiss Packaging Institute SVI and over 90 registered exhibitors „The future of packaging“ will once again be the main theme of the trade fair and the accompanying programme. Empack 2025 will therefore once again focus on innovations relating to current and future challenges facing the Swiss packaging industry. The established concept „Discover, Learn, Connect“ will continue to exist in 2025 following positive feedback: Here Identifying trends, sharing expert knowledge and exchanging ideas and concrete solutions.

In addition, there will once again be the opportunity to learn about best practice solutions from industry experts and make contacts at the „Packaging Talks“. The positive feedback from 2024 underlines the success of this compact format on two trade fair days: 91 per cent of visitors rated the trade fair as good to very good, 92 per cent would recommend it to others, and more than 73 per cent appreciated the valuable synergies with Logistics & Automation, which takes place at the same time.

Empack 2025 is almost fully booked. To the currently 90 registered companies belong to New exhibitors such as TechniPack, Minebea Intec Switzerland and Adrians. Innovative companies such as Peyer Marking, Abena Schaumstoff, Müller Plastics, NNZ, Fr. Schiettinger and Chromos Group are back after a long break.

Important key players in the industry BVS Verpackungs-Systeme, Schelling, Saropack, Videojet Technologies Suisse, Model and Prodinger Verpackung once again emphasise the importance of the trade fair this year as a central meeting point for Swiss packaging expertise. With Biplast, Tirugo and Inter-Pack Ukraine, the trade fair is also gaining new exhibitors. three premium partners, who present their expertise from different areas of the packaging industry.

Broad supporting programme

The informative Packaging Talks, which are organised and moderated in close cooperation with the Swiss Packaging Institute SVI, are once again a central element of the trade fair. On the first day, the focus will be on „Innovation & future trends“Topics such as the winners of the Swiss Packaging Award 2025 (audience award), packaging development, new 2D codes for packaging and artificial intelligence will be at the centre of the presentations. On the second day, everything will revolve around „Perspectives for a green future“, with the major trends of sustainability and environmental protection taking centre stage.

Start-up Zone by Swiss Food Research

Another highlight is once again the Start-up Zone by Swiss Food Research. This special area offers innovative young companies a platform, to present their latest ideas and solutions in the packaging sector - especially innovative solutions for packaging food as sustainably as possible. Although the final participants have not yet been finalised, this area promises exciting insights into the future of the industry.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to view the winning exhibits of the SVI's Swiss Packaging Awards 2024 and win a Outlook for 2025. The prize also entitles the winner to take part in the international World Star Award packaging competition.
