The Empack and Logistics & Distribution trade fairs planned for May 2021 have been cancelled due to the pandemic. Instead, the organiser Easyfairs is focusing on a digital event in May.
The events planned for 19 and 20 May 2021 Empack and Logistics & Distribution do not take place. They will be limited to the 18 and 19 May 2022 postponed. Nevertheless, trade fair organiser Easyfairs is optimistic and will be staging the trade fair duo not only in Dortmund but also in Hamburg next year.
„It is currently completely unclear when trade fairs, hotels and restaurants will be allowed to reopen - and whether they will remain open until mid-May. However, our customers and partners, especially the exhibitors, need planning certainty. We have therefore decided to postpone both trade fairs to 18 and 19 May 2022. By then, the situation will hopefully be such that all the conditions for successful and safe regional industrial trade fairs will be in place.“ Maria Soloveva, Project Manager
Digital networking in 2021
As long as there are no face-to-face trade fairs, the aim is to create additional online offerings because, according to Soloveva, „exhibitors and potential visitors to our events are urgently waiting for the Opportunity for personal exchange.“ Therefore, in May 2021 OnlineDays will be organised to showcase solutions, innovations and products from exhibitors and trade fair partners.
Empack and Logistics & Distribution 2022
In 2021, the two regional trade fairs will take place in Dortmund as usual, but also in Hamburg. „We are increasingly going there, where the markets and communities are. The Hamburg metropolitan region is one of Europe's leading logistics centres and home to many packaging companies. What the industry still lacks at a regional level is a business platform for personal dialogue where suppliers and users can meet. We will close this gap,“ explains Maria Soloveva.
The decision will be accompanied by a new brand identity for both trade fairs. The new design is intended to sharpen the identity of the two trade fair brands.
