Empack Dortmund 2025 attracted around 2,600 visitors and presented over 130 exhibitors together with Logistics & Automation. The focus was on practical packaging solutions, current industry trends and a broad-based lecture programme.
The trade fair, which has established itself as a meeting point for the industrial and transport packaging sector in North Rhine-Westphalia, addressed key topics such as sustainability, reusable concepts and the use of artificial intelligence in packaging processes. Among other things, intelligent pallets and AI-based optimisation solutions for e-commerce were presented in a lecture block by Fraunhofer IML and IAP.
Impulses from practice and research
The Insights Stage provided additional impetus with topics such as reuse, packaging ecology and digital innovations. The German Reusable Packaging Association and the Reusable Packaging Initiative Foundation rounded off the programme with discussions and project presentations on circular packaging solutions.
Outlook: Empack Hamburg and Dortmund 2026
The next edition of the trade fair will take place in Hamburg from 3 to 4 June 2025 - together with Logistics & Automation and, for the first time, all about automation. The next Dortmund edition is scheduled for 25/26 February 2026 planned.
