At this year's Anuga FoodTec, Gerhard Schubert GmbH, Crailsheim, is presenting a TLM system for packaging yoghurt pots in flow packs. For this purpose, the line is equipped with the Flowmodul flow-wrapping unit, which is integrated into the machine without interfaces. The 3D scanner, also from Schubert, ensures the quality of the packaged products on the line.
Molkerei Alois Müller also relies on TLM technology for the secondary packaging of its products. The trade fair machine packs the „Yoghurt with the corner - Mini“ for children in mixpacks. Two of the double-chamber cups are combined in a tubular bag. The machine processes the products at an optimum speed of 60 cycles per minute. This ensures that the yoghurt does not stick to the lid (plate). This would be the case at higher cycle rates. A 3D scanner installed on the line ensures that yoghurt pots with damaged or missing lids are not picked up. The 3D scanner also ensures the correct orientation of the yoghurt pots in the tubular bag.
Equipped with five pick-and-place robots that place 300 products per minute into the flow module's feed chain, the machine achieves an output of 150 flowpacks per minute. Thanks to the fully automatic carrier change when feeding the cups and the scalable robots, various packing schemes can be realised. After delivery, the machine will also process 2, 3 or 6-packs at the customer's premises, for example. The option, Mixpacks in different combinations gives the customer additional flexibility. The TLM system fulfils high standards in terms of hygiene and quality assurance during the packaging process. The stainless steel cassettes and stainless steel carriers can be easily cleaned under high pressure. With the Flowmodul, small batch sizes, short product life cycles and a wide variety of products can be handled more efficiently than ever before.
Packaging in tubular bags
The second-generation flow module offers simplified accessibility for maintenance and cleaning work. The more ergonomically designed suspension of the film rolls also makes the machine easier to operate. The standardised control system, user-friendliness, highly flexible robot loading and the fact that Schubert offers the entire machine concept from a single source are also important arguments in favour of the customer benefits of this solution.
