ESPERA NOVA - labelling position defined fully automatically

At AnugaFoodTec 2018 in Cologne, ESPERA is presenting the innovative NOVA machine generation with a unique 3D pack detection system that defines the perfect labelling position fully automatically.

In the age of digitalisation, it is not just the speed of machines that is the measure of all things along the production chain. In fact, completely new possibilities are currently emerging to make processes more efficient and machines more intuitive, and ESPERA is also utilising these.

In the future, machines will provide preventative feedback on upcoming maintenance measures or the condition of individual machine components, for example, so that a machine does not break down in the first place and set-up processes can be planned optimally and efficiently. This is already a reality at ESPERA, where the new, innovative NOVA machine generation is setting new standards.

In the field of labelling and marking, for example, the thermal bar of a printing system has always been the critical factor. The „Black Box“ among machine components is becoming increasingly important thanks to the digital transformation in the new generation NOVA visible to everyone. Machine operators can monitor the current status and the associated print quality of the thermal bar in real time and make adjustments if necessary using an integrated assistance system.

Another digital tool for improving quality and increasing efficiency is the unique 3D pack detection as a flexible response to rapidly changing packaging and labelling trends. Even with new geometries and materials, the label must always be placed in the optimum position. Especially for uneven products or products in skin or tubular bag packaging, ESPERA NOVA offers a unique 3D pack recognition function that recognises the label during the labelling process. Scans the geometry of the packaging and uses integrated algorithms to define the perfect labelling position fully automatically.

The label is therefore always placed in the optimum position at maximum speed. In addition, the pack geometry determined by the camera is automatically recorded and saved in the system. As a result, the time-consuming creation of pack data is now handled by the machine itself and no longer needs to be recorded and maintained by the production employee.

ESPERA will be presenting these and many other innovative product solutions in the field of price labelling live.
