Eternity Systems strengthens its European presence with the acquisition of German specialist CLS Cleanaway Logistic Services and further expands its industrial platform for reusable and closed-loop solutions.

Eternity Systems, a French company and global provider of industrial services for reusable packaging, has announced the acquisition of CLS Cleanaway Logistic Services GmbH. Based in Germany, the company specialises in empty container management solutions and automated sorting systems for the beverage industry. As part of the transaction, CLS will operate under the name CLS - Circular Logistics Solutions. The acquisition is part of Eternity Systems' international growth strategy and emphasises the Group's focus on the circular economy.

CLS develops and operates intelligent systems to optimise the management of reusable packaging and to industrialise automated sorting processes for bottles and crates. The company uses flexible operating models that combine in-house solutions with outsourced sorting platforms. The company currently operates two industrial sites in the Hamburg region and is working on the further development of a third site to facilitate further growth.

Industrial and technological synergies

According to the company, the acquisition will create industrial, technological and commercial synergies between Eternity Systems and CLS. The pooling of expertise in the areas of automation, circular logistics and industrial performance is intended to accelerate the development and introduction of solutions with high added value for players in the reuse of packaging.

The acquisition strengthens Eternity Systems' European platform and creates additional conditions to drive forward the industrialisation of packaging reuse on a large scale, the company concludes.
