At automatica, the long-established company Euchner from Leinfelden-Echterdingen will be showcasing interesting solutions for the packaging industry, such as the new CKS2 secure key system, in line with the trending topic of digital transformation. Euchner, the specialist for safety technology, is thus opening up a wide range of possible applications.
RFID keys with various functions are available for the system. By selecting the key, the user decides during initial commissioning whether the device is to be used, for example, for simply stopping and starting processes, as an electronic key transfer system or as an authorisation system for several operators. The configuration takes place the first time the key is learnt. Reconfiguration to a different function is possible at any time. Euchner calls this „FlexFunction“.
In combination with the Euchner IO-Link gateways, the application possibilities are extended and extensive diagnostic and communication functions are available. The new CKS2 Electronic-Key adapter fulfils the highest safety requirements for locking and starting machines and systems (Fig.).
Euchner now also offers the small solenoid interlock CTM in Hygenic Design in a version with an operating current principle. With the CTM-ASi, there are also devices for connection to AS-Interface. The CTM for securing small doors and flaps is optimised from the outset for use in the packaging and food industry and is one of the smallest guard locking devices available. In combination with the IO-Link gateways from Euchner, various device data can also be transmitted to the control system here.
