Euromilk now in a carton

Euromilk has started a collaboration with SIG to be the first company in Eastern Europe to launch products in carton packs with the ground-breaking SIGNATURE packaging material. The polymers used to coat the cartonboard are 100 per cent linked to renewable, forest-based raw materials.

Euromilk, based in southern Slovakia, has started a collaboration with SIG to be the first company in Eastern Europe to launch products in carton packs with the ground-breaking Signature packaging material. The polymers used to coat the cartonboard are 100 per cent linked to renewable, forest-based raw materials.

Euromilk is moving towards sustainability and is beginning to UHT milk brand Kukkonia from PET bottles to carton packs in order to appeal to younger, environmentally conscious consumers in particular. The growing consumer demand for more sustainable products is high and the market launch is therefore an important milestone for Euromilk. With the decision in favour of the Signature packaging material in Eastern Europe, a decisive step was taken for the dairy industry in the region.

Cardboard all along the line

The standard packaging of SIG, which consists of around 70-80 per cent Raw cardboard made from renewable FSC-certified and other controlled sources already offer a significantly better environmental balance than alternative types of packaging. The CO2-The carbon footprint of a carton pack is up to 70 per cent lower than that of other types of packaging. Up to 95 per cent of the Signature Full Barrier packaging material is also made from 95 per cent renewable, forest-based raw materials and is 100 per cent responsibly sourced. In addition to the FSC-certified cardboard, the polymers are also certified by an independent Mass balance system (ISCC Plus) certified. The used Polymers are 100 per cent connected to Tall oil, a wood residue that is produced during paper manufacturing.

Kukkonia UHT-Milch has been in combiblocSlimline carton packs from SIG in 500 and 1,000 ml packs can be found on the shelves in Slovakia. Flavoured milk (chocolate and vanilla) is also available in 500 ml packaging.
