Schreiner Medipharm has developed an autoinjector label for Teva's emergency medication epinephrine that is specially protected against abrasion. The vital application and product information thus remains perfectly legible over a longer period of time.
Epinephrine is used in life-threatening allergic emergencies and is a prescription-only medicine. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, a supplier of generics and speciality medicines, offers it in Single-dose, prefilled disposable auto-injectors on. This means that affected patients can carry the adrenaline autoinjector with them at all times in order to administer an injection immediately if necessary and thus counteract an allergic reaction.
Abrasion-resistant and excellent
Schreiner Medipharm has labelled the label developed for this injector with a Abrasion and scratch-resistant back printing coating. This makes it particularly resistant to the chemical and mechanical stresses to which the auto-injector may be exposed when travelling. Thanks to a special material design and the special shape of the autoinjector customised design the identification label adheres securely to the device.
The vital information on the product and its use is therefore Reliably legible and always available. There is no need for an additional sleeve to protect the label from abrasion or detachment. For product and patient protection, the label is also provided with a perforation that prevents any damage. First opening of the cap and thus also clearly and irreversibly indicates any possible tampering.
Schreiner Medipharm's product development was recognised in the annual Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) competition in 2019. The North American labelling industry association awarded the label the second place in the „Multi-Process“ category“.
