Excellent packaging for water

This year's Global Water Drinks Awards 2020 have now been presented in an online awards ceremony, with two SIG customers receiving awards in the Best in Carton category.

This year's Global Water Drinks Awards 2020 have now been presented in an online awards ceremony as part of the virtual 17th Global Water Drinks Congress. For the first time, the event could also be followed live on YouTube.

In total, the this year's awards over 160 contributions from 27 countries worldwide received. In the category Best in Carton won two SIG customers. The start-up DRINKS3 (Drinks Cubed) was created for WATER3 in the combidome carton bottle with SIGNATURE packaging material. SIGNATURE is the world's only packaging material for aseptic carton packs that also includes the polymers via a certified mass balance process to 100 per cent are linked to plant-based, renewable materials.

Sustainable water packaging honoured with Global Water Drinks Award

WATER3 According to the manufacturer, the beverage brand with the lowest CO2-footprint in Great Britain. The jury praised the Comprehensive inclusion of sustainable aspects in production, packaging and sales and the Clear design combined with a sustainable approach.

DRINKS3 was one of the first suppliers of SIGNATURE and one of the first customers to take advantage of the option to choose packs in which all three main materials come from responsible, certified sources. The in the WATER3-The raw cardboard used for the packaging comes from FSC®certified sustainable sources; the polymers associated with renewable materials are ISCC PLUS certified and the ultra-thin layer of aluminium foil is certified to the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) standard.

The second winner was The Happy Healthy Kids Co. with Wa Waah Water in combifitPremium from SIG, in the opinion of the jury a Differentiating product with a design that appeals to the target groups.
