One year after the ground-breaking ceremony, the expansion of Südpack Medica's French site in Coulmer is going according to plan. By doubling the cleanroom space, the company aims to increase its production capacity for sterile pouch solutions for the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries.
Expanded at the Coulmer site in Normandy Südpack Medica its production capacities. Since the ground-breaking ceremony in September 2023, construction work to double the cleanroom space has been in full swing. Completion is planned for July 2025. The expansion should enable Südpack Medica to meet the increasing demand for sterilisable packaging, especially in the pharmaceutical sector. The expansion of the cleanroom area with ISO7 certification is intended to optimise the production of sterile pouches in order to package glass bottles, ampoules and syringes with a low particle input, which is of great importance in the pharmaceutical industry.
The plant in Coulmer, which specialises in the production of sterile barrier systems, will continue to offer a wide range of packaging solutions for medical and pharmaceutical applications. In addition to standard pouches, which can be used in a variety of ways, the plant will also produce Specialised packaging for wound care products, surgical kits and dialysis filters are produced. Sustainable packaging solutions such as tubular bags without migration risks, which are characterised by high stability and barrier properties, are also offered.
Managing Director Thomas Freis emphasises: „With the Expansion of the cleanroom areas and the advanced machine technology, we are ideally equipped to meet the requirements of our customers in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.“ The new production facility will increase the company's flexibility, even with small order quantities and fast delivery times.
