If the infection situation continues to develop favourably, the resumption of trade fair operations in Bavaria could be possible again on 1 September. The Bavarian state government's decision also means planning security for the almost 800 exhibitors who have already registered for Fachpack 2021.

At its cabinet meeting on 18 May 2021, the Bavarian state government decided to further ease the coronavirus measures and set out a clear opening perspective for the trade fair industry: if the infection situation continues to develop favourably, the Resumption of trade fair operations by 1 September 2021 at the latest possible.

For the Specialist packEuropean Trade Fair for Packaging, Technology and Processes, the from 28 to 30 September 2021 in Nuremberg this decision comes at the right time. Almost 800 exhibitors have registered and are currently preparing their presentations in the nine occupied exhibition halls.

Longing for a real trade fair experience

There is a great need for a meeting place for the packaging industry. For almost two years, the packaging industry has not had a trade fair where it could present itself on site. "Finally meeting customers again, presenting new products and discussing trends in person - that's what our exhibitors and we all want after the long period of austerity. We are ready. The Fachpack exhibition halls are planned; the supporting programme is almost complete", says Heike Slotta, Executive Director at NürnbergMesse.

Fachpack 2021: Hygiene concept enables personal networking

In order to guarantee a safe visit to the trade fair, extensive Protective measures and developed a detailed hygiene concept: Contactless payment, online ticket booking, hand sanitising options, a state-of-the-art ventilation concept for exhibition halls and congress rooms and traceability through digital contact tracing via app at the exhibition stands are just a few examples. So-called community areas in the exhibition halls enable personal networking while maintaining social distancing.

myFachpack connects the real and digital worlds

New this year the digital tool myFachpackwhich offers exhibitors the opportunity to extend their reach into the digital realm. And visitors who do not wish to travel to Nuremberg can still take part in the trade fair. The tool offers, for example, online matchmaking and networking even before the trade fair begins, digital additions to the product presentations on the exhibition stands, e.g. through videos, chats or virtual meeting rooms as well as live streams of the three forums Packbox, Techbox and the new exhibitor forum Innovationbox.
