FACHPACK 2024 closes after three days with a significant increase in visitors and proves to be an important driving force for the European packaging industry. More than 37,000 trade visitors visited 1,455 exhibitors to find out about the latest trends and innovative solutions in the packaging sector.
FACHPACK 2024 recorded a significant increase in visitor numbers after three successful days. Around 37,000 trade visitors, a third of whom came from abroad, used the trade fair to find out about the latest developments in the packaging industry. With 1,455 exhibitors, the trade fair offered a wide range of solutions and innovations. The main theme „Transition In Packaging“ took centre stage, as the packaging industry is currently facing major challenges such as sustainability, the circular economy and new regulations.
High visitor satisfaction and international presence
According to an independent visitor survey, 96 per cent of trade visitors were satisfied with what the trade fair had to offer. Around 90 per cent of participants stated that they were involved in purchasing or procurement decisions at their company. Two thirds of the visitors are in management positions. The international orientation of FACHPACK was emphasised by the strong presence of visitors from countries such as Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Poland and Turkey.
Women4Packaging network launched
One highlight of the trade fair was the Women4Packaging networking event, which brought together 150 female industry representatives to discuss current topics and trends. With this new platform, FACHPACK aims to specifically promote women in the packaging industry and strengthen dialogue. The event met with a great response and regular meetings are planned to further expand the network.

German Packaging Prize awarded
Another highlight was the presentation of the German Packaging Award by the German Packaging Institute. A total of 41 innovative solutions were honoured, including the winners of the Gold Awards in the categories of digitalisation, functionality, sustainability and packaging machines.
Future-oriented collaborations and new formats
FACHPACK announced a new cooperation with Packaging Valley e. V. for the year 2025. Together, they will be organising the Packaging Machinery Forum, which will focus on technological innovations and future-proof business models. This platform offers exclusive insights into the future of the packaging machinery industry and enables participants to network with leading experts.
Outlook for 2025
The next FACHPACK will take place from 23 to 25 September 2025 in Nuremberg and will be held at the same time as POWTECH TECHNOPHARM. This offers an additional opportunity to create synergies between the industries and discuss forward-looking solutions.
