From 23 to 25 September 2025, the packaging industry will once again meet at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg at Fachpack, the European Trade Fair for Packaging, Technology and Processes. Around 1,400 exhibitors are expected to attend, spread across 11 exhibition halls. Trade visitors can look forward not only to a wealth of packaging-related products and services and a top-class supporting programme, but also to two exciting new features: the event „FuturePack - The European Packaging Startup Summit“ on 22 September 2025 and the new „Converting meets Packaging“ pavilion in Hall 7 of Fachpack.

Phuong Anh Do, Exhibition Director of Fachpack, is delighted to be able to welcome part of the packaging industry to Nuremberg on the day before Fachpack with the format „FuturePack - The European Packaging Startup Summit“: „Our slogan ‚We create the future‘ also means that Fachpack offers start-ups and young innovative companies a home. With the joint stand ‚Young Innovators‘ and the Newcomer Area in Hall 3, we are already living up to this claim. However, we want to focus even more strongly on the future and innovation at Fachpack. We are therefore delighted that the FuturePack Summit is taking place as part of Fachpack.“

For the first time, Futury GmbH, in collaboration with Fachpack and EIT Food, is bringing together leading players from the European start-up scene at the FuturePack Summit. The aim is to offer packaging innovators a powerful platform where they can present their solutions shortly before the official start of Fachpack 2025. The aim is to close the gap between ground-breaking innovation and real market access, according to the Franconian organisers. FuturePack is the place where research-orientated ideas, early-stage companies and scalable start-ups meet industry, investors and decision-makers.

Summit attendees can look forward to energetic start-up pitches, expert panels, keynotes from industry pioneers and a lively atmosphere where ground-breaking ideas meet real market potential.

Participation in the summit is of interest to packaging-related start-ups, companies, researchers, packaging experts, sustainability experts, investors and anyone who is committed to promoting the circular economy and sustainable innovation in the packaging industry.

Numerous presentations and a great prize

With contributions from science, start-ups and industry, FuturePack takes a strategic look at how packaging innovations move from research to the market. Participants can expect over 25 start-up presentations, divided into 3 blocks:

  • Innovation from research (early-stage technologies and potential university spin-offs)
  • Early-stage innovation (promising start-ups from the EIT Food ecosystem) and
  • Innovation in the later phase (market-ready solutions for real challenges)

Phuong Anh Do adds: „The best three start-ups will also be chosen live on site as part of the event. The winners will have the opportunity to present their packaging innovations on the first day of Fachpack in the Innovation Box forum and discuss them directly with partners from the industry.“

The FuturePack Summit will take place on Monday, 22 September at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, NCC Mitte, Brussels Hall.

New: „Converting meets Packaging“ pavilion in Hall 7

Fachpack 2025 will also see the premiere of the „Converting meets Packaging“ pavilion in Hall 7, which is already fully booked with seven exhibitors and is being organised by Fachpack in cooperation with M2N Media, publisher of the trade media PRO Flexconvert and PRO Flextronics. „The innovative platform focuses on the close connection between the converting industry and the packaging sector. The aim is to promote communication between converters, packaging machine manufacturers and packaging manufacturers and to identify potential for improved cooperation,“ explains Phuong Anh Do, adding that the pavilion offers companies that are active at the interface between these industries - whether in the areas of finishing, coating, printing, laminating, adhesive technology or flexible packaging development - a curated stage to present their products and services in a themed and suitable product environment and to jointly shape the future of converting and packaging.
