Fachpack awaits Europe's packaging industry

From 24 to 26 September, the European packaging industry will once again meet at Fachpack, which, in addition to more than 1,400 exhibitors, offers an extensive lecture programme and exciting special shows as well as award ceremonies.

From 24 to 26 September, the European packaging industry will once again meet at Fachpack. Visitors to the trade fair for packaging, technology and processes can look forward to an extensive programme of presentations in the Packbox, Innovationbox and Solpack 5.0 forums as well as exciting special shows and award ceremonies. 

More than 1,400 exhibitors will not only be showing packaging materials, packaging materials, packaging aids, packaging machines and packaging technology at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. The associated important processes relating to automation, labelling technology, packaging printing, finishing and intralogistics can also be experienced. This year's trade fair is being organised under the guiding theme of „Transition In Packaging“, which describes the changes currently taking place in the industry and is reflected in the eleven exhibition halls and the top-class supporting programme.

Fachpack is positioning itself this year as a continental event. Heike Slotta, Executive Director Exhibitions, NürnbergMesse: „54 percent of the exhibitors come from Germany, the rest from the strong DACH economic region and neighbouring countries. Turkey in particular is strongly represented.“ New exhibitors will account for around 20 per cent, and the internationality of these exhibitors is very high at 70 per cent.

Exciting forums and Fachpack TV live

The three forums Packbox (Hall 4), Innovationbox (Hall 2) and Solpack 5.0 (Hall 3) address current industry topics, such as dealing with the new PPWR regulations, the circular economy, automation and AI, as well as alternative packaging solutions and new fibre raw materials.

On the first day of the trade fair, it's also „Clear the stage!“ for the 41 winners of Europe's biggest packaging showcase, the German Packaging Award. Almost 250 entries from 13 countries were submitted in advance and wanted to be assessed and judged in person. The German Packaging Award is organised by the German Packaging Institute (dvi) and in ten categories from 4.30 pm in NCC Mitte, Munich hall. As a premium partner, Fachpack will be awarding the special prize for young talent. This award honours the best packaging concepts from school pupils, trainees and students.

On all three days of the fair there will also be Fachpack TV live from the exhibition centre. The packaging journal presenters Julia Paul and Jan Malte Andresen will be reporting from the „glass studio“ in Hall 4. The team from Germany's leading packaging trade magazine presents talks, interviews, panels and presentations on all aspects of packaging. Plus news and trends directly from the trade fair. Exciting: Visitors are highly welcome! Fachpack visitors can be there live and see how television is made. All content will be streamed on social media and can be accessed afterwards in an online media centre.

Alternative packaging solutions and good packaging design

In the „Alternative packaging solution“ pavilion, alternative examples to conventional materials will be presented and the A glimpse of what could be possible in the future. In the fully booked pavilion in Hall 3, 13 companies will be exhibiting compostable film bags, cushioning material made from grain husks, compostable tea bags, packaging made from sugar cane and much more.

And anyone interested in packaging design should visit the Design special show „Outside the Box“ in Hall 4. Organised by bayern design on behalf of Fachpack, it will show the design process from the initial idea to good packaging design and provide valuable insights into the impact of design in development processes. It also illustrates how Designers as creative partners in the development process Finding solutions to fulfil technical, ecological and economic requirements for packaging. Extraordinary exhibits, e.g. innovative packaging for fitted sheets or a reusable system for household products such as detergents or soaps, will be used to demonstrate design processes that make packaging more recyclable, enable a better experience of the brands behind a product and create identification and awareness among customers and users.
