With an AI application based on the Paretos platform, Faller Packaging says it is optimising its forecasting accuracy, reducing storage costs and improving delivery reliability.

Packaging specialist Faller Packaging has implemented an AI-based solution to optimise its supply chain processes. The decision was made in favour of the Paretos platform, which enables a data-driven forecasting methodology and thus creates the basis for a more efficient, flexible and resilient supply chain.

50 % more accurate forecasts and up to 16 months planning lead time

The system is already showing measurable success shortly after its introduction:

  • Forecast accuracy improves by 50 %
  • Rolling forecasts enable predictions up to 16 months in advance
  • Storage costs fall significantly, while delivery reliability increases

Digital transformation for the pharmaceutical supply chain

The new solution is particularly tailored to the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, where high security of supply, regulatory requirements and short reaction times to market fluctuations are crucial.

Expansion planned: From pilot project to integrated system solution

Following a successful pilot phase with selected product groups, the solution will now be gradually extended to other areas of the company. The aim is to manage inventory in line with demand, reduce overproduction and integrate procurement, production and logistics even more closely.

Other AI-based applications in neighbouring areas are also to be integrated in the future, according to Waldkirch.
