After celebrating its European premiere at the TechniShow in Utrecht in March, Fanuc's SR-3iA Scara robot will also be presented at the Automatica 2018 trade fair stand. The „SR-3iA“ is the first model in a new series of cost-effective Scara robots in the lower payload range. It is suitable for packaging tasks as well as for applications in the electronics industry, the automotive sector or for medical technology and the plastics sector.
The new robot model is designed for Load capacities of up to three kilograms and a cycle time of 0.57 seconds with continuous throughput. The product weighs just 19 kilograms and can be used upright or wall-mounted. The range is 400 millimetres with a 200 millimetre stroke and a positioning accuracy of plus or minus 0.01 millimetres.
The Scara robot is controlled with the new R-30iB Compact Plus„ control unit“. It is suitable for CE and NRTL labelling. The standard included, Browser-based „iRProgrammer“ user interface“ makes it easier to set up, programme and operate the robot. It can replace the tried-and-tested teach panel as a user interface. The software package offers numerous additional functions, including „iRVision“, „iRPickTool“ and „Conveyor Tracking“.
