Small but mighty: processing folding cartons „on demand“

The spring meeting of the „Small but mighty“ working group within the Folding Carton Industry Association (FFI) took place at Dresden-based Kama GmbH at the beginning of March 2018. According to the FFI, the focus was on presentations on the further processing and finishing of folding cartons „on demand“.

Nine representatives from companies with up to 40 employees took part in the one-and-a-half-day conference in Saxony's metropolis. The managing partners of Kama, Marcus Tralau and Steffen Pieper, informed the visitors about the technical possibilities of their company. They explained that the small size of the company enables fast and personal communication.

Among other things, they presented a Punching and finishing machine. With a Flatbed die cutter The wide range of applications from die-cutting to hot foil stamping was emphasised. With the stripper and blanking unit, tool-free stripping and separating is possible. Also on show was a fully automatic Folding carton gluing machine for short runs and a folding/gluing machine for various printed products.

The FFI working group „Small but mighty“ currently has 15 members. These are managing directors of small and medium-sized companies. The working group meets twice a year to discuss specialist, technological and current topics.
