With FiberWise, Hartmann has developed a new fibre-based tray solution that offers fresh meat producers an alternative to conventional plastic trays. The company will be showcasing its innovation at the Sealpac stand at IFFA.

With over 100 years of experience in fibre moulding technology, Hartmann has now developed FiberWise. a sealable tray for the fresh food sector which minimises the ecological footprint without compromising the efficiency of existing tray sealing systems.

Thanks to its base trays made from 100 per cent renewable materials, FiberWise reduces the amount of plastic used by 70 per cent compared to standard PET or PP plastic trays on the market. In this way, the recyclable solution aims to help reduce waste and promote the circular economy.

Consumer-friendly packaging

Consumers are increasingly opting for fibre-based packaging because it meets their sustainability values. FiberWise can be Seamlessly integrate into standardised reprocessing processes and is therefore a practical and responsible choice for the sustainability-orientated consumer.
One feature is the separability of the materials, which enables efficient recycling of fibre and plastic components and ensures that materials are reused.

Thanks to their robust design, FiberWise MAP barrier trays can be with a plug-and-play concept can be seamlessly integrated into the existing packaging systems of fresh produce producers - with minimal or no investment. The tray can be easily unstacked and runs at high speed on existing traysealer lines, without the need for new moulds. FiberWise is compatible with numerous commercially available lidding films.
