Schümann has developed a new hotmelt tape with integrated fibre reinforcement. It is particularly suitable for the fully automated sealing of heavy and highly stressed bulk bags.
Bags made of multi-layer kraft paper, polymer films or composite materials are among the indispensable packaging materials. Bulk goods of all kinds are packed in them. The requirements in terms of transport safety, product protection and hygiene are constantly increasing. This not only promotes the development of new types of bags, but also the The quality of the closure strips must keep pace. A current example is the new solution from Schümann. With the provision of its new HS6060, Schümann is responding to the growing need of many bulk goods packers to pack their paper or combination bags with safe and more resilient hotmelt tapes to close.
Particularly tear-resistant: Hotmelt tape HS6060
The decisive factor is a fibre reinforcement incorporated in the form of a grid. It gives the multi-layer paper tape, which is coated with a heat-sealing adhesive, its exceptional High tear resistance.

The new HS6060 is therefore particularly suitable for the secure packaging of heavy bulk goods or bags that are exposed to higher loads during transport. It is now available in a Width of 45 mm and 50 mm on rolls with different running lengths are available for use in fully automated packaging lines.
Wide range of bag closures
Schümann now offers manufacturers and packers hotmelt sealing strips for Almost all bulk bags currently available on the market. The company is also constantly optimising its hotmelt tapes. The company's bag closure tapes are available in all standard colours on the Pantone scale.
Hotmelt tapes for the automatic sealing of so-called combination sacks play a major role in the current sack closure portfolio. They consist of an inner polyethylene sack and an outer, printable paper coating. They are often processed using the FTS (Fold-Tape-Seal) method in fully automated packaging lines.
The Schümann tapes specially designed for this technique are characterised by a solvent-free hot melt adhesive out. This can be activated at a relatively low heating temperature and binds any dust particles that may be present when it penetrates the sack paper. These sealing strips are a very reliable solution. After the automatic multiple folding of the top edge of the bag, they form an ideal dust-tight seal for the bag packaging. The AGV-compatible hotmelt tapes from Schümann are used, for example, in the chemical, animal feed and food industries.
