According to the manufacturer, FiberWise is setting standards for sustainable packaging innovations with its fibre-based tray solutions. The new tray offers producers of fresh meat and convenience solutions an environmentally conscious alternative to conventional plastic trays.

FiberWise will be exhibiting at the Sealpac stand at IFFA in Frankfurt. With over 100 years of experience in moulded fibre technology, Hartmann has developed FiberWise, a sealable tray for the fresh food sector that minimises the ecological footprint without compromising the efficiency of existing tray sealing systems.

FiberWise uses sustainable materials and upcycling to produce high-quality packaging from renewable resources, according to the company. With state-of-the-art technology and CO₂-optimised production, FiberWise offers a packaging solution that not only protects the environment, but also ensures maximum efficiency and product protection.

Thanks to its base trays made from 100% renewable materials, FiberWise reduces the amount of plastic used by 70% compared to standard PET or PP plastic trays on the market. This solution therefore makes a significant contribution to reducing waste and promoting a circular economy.

Thanks to their robust design, FiberWise MAP barrier trays can be seamlessly integrated into existing packaging systems of fresh produce producers with a plug-and-play concept - with minimal or no investment. The tray can be easily de-stacked and run at high speed on existing traysealer lines without the need for new moulds.

„FiberWise is a realistic, environmentally friendly alternative that has the potential to change the packaging market in the long term,“ says Kati Ørskov, Business Unit Director at Hartmann.
