At Fachpack, FKuR will be presenting resource-saving packaging plastics with a reduced ecological footprint that meet the requirements of the circular economy and are suitable for both mechanical and organic recycling.
At the trade fair, the company will be showcasing alternative materials based on renewable raw materials as well as recyclates and bio-recyclate hybrids.
Resource-saving plastics based on PCR and PIR
Under the brand name Macolen R, FKuR has developed a Recyclate portfolio suitable for extrusion and injection moulding developed. These include customised compounds based on PCR (post-consumer recyclate) or PIR (post-industrial recyclate), depending on the application. Thanks to the individually customisable recyclate content FKuR with Macolen R to meet the specific requirements of different extrusion and injection moulding applications.
Hybrid compound combines recyclates with renewable raw materials
Terralene rPP is a new family, hybrid compounds based on polypropylene (PP) from FKuR, which combines the ecological benefits of recyclates and bio-based raw materials with 100 per cent recyclability. Depending on the product type, the proportion of recyclates ranges from 30 to 50 per cent. The bio-based content can reach up to 33 per cent. The technical properties can be specifically adapted to the application, constantly adjusted and customised for optimum process capability. This means that both injection moulding and extrusion grades are available. In addition to technical parts, typical applications for Terralene rPP, which is designed as a drop-in product, primarily include Rigid packaging and films in the non-food sector.
"Sustainable packaging solutions and circularity are the core themes of our Fachpack presentation this year. With the presentation of our expanded bioplastics and recyclate portfolio, we now offer our customers a wealth of product solutions for these topics. For packaging manufacturers, we offer both domestic and industrially compostable as well as fully or partially bio-based plastics and recyclate-based grades. This puts us in a position to offer solutions for all regulatory requirements across Europe." Niklas VossDeputy Sales Manager of FKuR
