Rising costs for raw materials, energy and transport continue to pose difficulties for the packaging industry. The Flint Group is now increasing prices globally for all packaging products in the Flexible Packaging, Paper & Board and Narrow Web divisions.
Following several announcements pointing to the deteriorating market conditions in 2021, the Flint Group continue to struggle with rising costs. Moreover, there are no signs of any easing in the foreseeable future.
"The Security of supply is our top priority. Thanks to our extensive global network and our efficiency programmes, we are able to mitigate a significant part of the cost and delivery risk. However, we continue to observe a Shortage of supply and exponential cost increases. Despite the implementation of extensive efficiency programmes to mitigate these conditions, we are reluctantly forced to increase prices“.
Doug Aldred, Chief Commercial Officer - Flint Group Packaging
The company will seek a price increase and an increase in temporary surcharges during the first quarter or when contracts allow.
