Follmann GmbH & Co. KG, Minden, has expanded its portfolio with a new adhesive that has been specially developed for frozen food packaging and is already being used successfully. FEMEG Produktions- und Vertriebs GmbH from Rehna uses the new development for the frozen packaging of its fish and seafood specialities.
The demands placed on food packaging are generally high. Frozen food packaging places additional demands on the adhesive used: not only must it be food-safe, it must also be frost-resistant and low-migration. In order to be able to offer manufacturers of this packaging a correspondingly high-quality product, the expert for Speciality chemicals Follmann has expanded its range of adhesives with the new Hot melt adhesives Folco® Melt ProPack for cardboard packaging and folding cartons.
Features that impress
The new Folco® Melt ProPack 60, which is excellently suited for nozzle application, is characterised by its outstanding cohesive properties, high initial strength and particularly long open time. It not only resists Temperatures down to -40 °C Even with the challenges posed by thermal stress and condensation, it impresses with a secure and reliable bond. In addition, it does not show any stringing even at high application speeds and bonds with pinpoint accuracy. Another advantage is its good machinability: it is easy to adjust and can be applied at very high speeds.
