Franke GmbH has expanded the use of secondary aluminium in the production of its linear guides. According to the company, this combines precision and lightweight construction with a clear sustainability claim.
Linear guides are key components for precise motion sequences in industrial applications. The profile rails from Franke consist of aluminium bodies with integrated steel running wires. Carriages with maintenance-free, needle or ball bearing mounted rollers ensure smooth running and high dynamics. The use of secondary aluminium, i.e. recycled material from previously used aluminium products such as car parts, significantly reduces energy requirements.
Resource-saving production with a positive CO₂ balance
In contrast to the energy-intensive production of primary aluminium from bauxite, recycled aluminium requires significantly less energy and conserves valuable resources. According to Franke, the closed-loop recycling process reduces waste volumes and significantly improves the life cycle analysis of the product line. The result: lower material consumption and a reduced carbon footprint of the machines and systems in which the linear guides are used.
According to the company, the product line combines technological efficiency with ecological responsibility. Franke is therefore targeting users who prioritise both efficiency and environmental awareness in their production processes.
