Franke GmbH has officially opened its new Plant 6 in Obere Bahnstraße in Aalen. The modern production facility combines the complete production of high-end wire race bearings for medical and safety technology under one roof. Franke bearings are used in various industries, including safety technology, medical technology, robotics/handling and mechanical engineering. Investments in new machining centres, measuring and testing technologies and automation are intended to increase production capacities and enable flexible production of even large workpieces. Managing Director Sascha Eberhard described the new building as a „decisive milestone for the future“ and emphasised the benefits for global customers.

Focus on sustainability

The new building was constructed according to the KfW40 energy standard and contributes to the energy supply with a large photovoltaic roof. Franke will be climate-neutral in 2025, as it says. The consolidation of production into efficient production units is intended to promote productivity and resource conservation in equal measure. According to the company, this not only positions it as a technology leader in mechanical engineering, but also as a pioneer in terms of sustainability.
