The Italian food producer Sant'Orsola uses an uncoated cellulose tray in combination with a compostable cover film to package its blueberries.
The packaging for Zero Residuo* blueberries consists of an uncoated cellulose tray and a cover film from Corapack, an Italian processor of compostable solutions. The cover is based on NatureFlex, which is laminated onto a layer of biofilm to ensure impermeability. The NatureFlex film used for this application provides the required film stability and can be printed. The material of the processed cover product is suitable for industrial composting.
NatureFlex films are made from sustainable cellulose. They are certified for composting in accordance with both EU (EN13432) and US (ASTM D6400) standards. In addition to industrial composting, NatureFlex has also achieved the required TŰV Austria OK Compost Home Standard.
