Present products attractively, reduce material weight and remain highly flexible. These were Multivac's requirements for a new full wrap labelling solution for baked goods. Now the company announces: Mission accomplished.
With its Full Wrap Labelling, Multivac aims to redefine nothing less than the labelling of baked goods in hinged trays. The L 310 conveyor belt labeller is an efficient solution for C and D labelling that enables the hinged trays to be securely closed on one or both sides and at the same time sets new standards in terms of sustainability.
Whether small pastries, muffins, donuts or cake slices and whole cakes: Baked goods in transparent hinged trays are usually enclosed in a cardboard sleeve. With the L 310 conveyor belt labeller, Multivac has now developed a solution that significantly reduces the amount of material used: Compared to labelling with a cardboard sleeve, a material saving of up to 70 percent can be achieved with a full wrap label.
Up to 120 labels per minute
The model with the servo-driven pressure brushes enables C and D labelling of up to 120 packs per minute with label widths of up to 500 mm. In addition to a simple top label, a label can be applied in a C-shape over three sides or in a D-shape over all four sides of a pack, whereby an overlap on the underside of the pack is also possible, according to the Multivac developers. Both C and D labelling offer the advantage that the pack is sealed at the same time. An additional perforation can serve as an opening aid.
Labelling takes place automatically in throughfeed, whereby the products can be fed manually or automatically transferred from an upstream module. For maximum performance and process reliability, even with high throughput, the L 310 can also be equipped with a zero downtime function, integrated printer and optional labelling and print control. Together with a high number of labels on the roll, this ensures noticeable cost savings and a highly efficient process, especially in comparison to complex, manual packaging solutions.

Quick change possible
Multivac sees the fast batch and label changeover as a further plus point in terms of efficiency, which pays off particularly with a large variety of products. This is because all setting parameters and the print layout of the integrated printer are saved in the recipe and automatically called up when a batch is changed. If an optional gluing table is also used, experienced operators can change labels in less than a minute.
Multivac is now expanding its range for the bakery trade and industry with the new full wrap labelling solution.
