Georgia-Pacific completes acquisition of Anchor Packaging

With the integration of Anchor Packaging, Georgia-Pacific is pursuing the goal of expanding its supply chain and product base in the food packaging sector.

Georgia-Pacific has the acquisition of Anchor Packaging, a leading manufacturer of rigid food packaging and cling film, following the official review. The company is integrating the approximately 1,250 employees of Anchor Packaging into the Consumer Products Group, thereby strengthening its position in the food service packaging sector.

Anchor Packaging, founded in 1963, operates four production facilities and two warehouses in the USA. With the acquisition Georgia-Pacific is expanding its portfolio with the new business segment GP Foodservice Solutions, which will bundle brands such as Dixie, Anchor Packaging and possible further acquisitions.

David Duncan, Executive Vice President of Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products Group, said they are pleased to welcome the Anchor team and look forward to working together to expand service and product expertise in the foodservice market.

Expansion of the food service business

With the integration of Anchor Packaging Georgia-Pacific is pursuing the goal of expanding its supply chain and product base in the food packaging sector. By combining the production capacities of both companies, the aim is to strengthen quality and security of supply for customers in the catering, retail and processing sectors, according to the statement.
