Gerresheimer AG reports strong sales growth in the second quarter of 2021, with prefillable syringes and other high value solutions such as solutions for biotech drugs being the main drivers. Deliveries of injection vials are proceeding as planned. The company announced that it expects a good second half of the year.
In the second quarter of 2021, the company generated organic Group sales of 377 million euros. Organic sales grew by 7.5 per cent, while sales in the core business increased by 7.1 per cent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The company achieved significant sales growth, particularly in the area of primary pharmaceutical packaging made of plastic and in the syringe business. Organic sales in the Primary Packaging Glass division increased by 10.3 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year. Significant increases in sales were recorded in particular for high value solutions such as Elite Glass products.
Gerresheimer expects sales growth in the mid-single-digit percentage range for the financial year 2021.
