Messe Düsseldorf has cancelled the world's leading trade fair for the glass industry, which was due to take place in June 2021. The next glasstec will take place as scheduled from 20 to 23 September 2022.
Due to the ongoing pandemic and the continuing worldwide lockdown measures as well as international travel restrictions, glasstec will not take place as planned. In close consultation with associations and partners, Messe Düsseldorf has decided to postpone the glasstec already postponed from 2020 to 2021, which was planned from 15 to 18 June 2021. A successful realisation on the planned date in June is still not guaranteed under the current circumstances.
„Based on the extension of the lockdown and due to the ongoing infection situation, we cannot guarantee that the event will be held in the usual form and quality. In particular due to the Travel restrictions still in force would be the glasstec with its high proportion of international exhibitors and visitors, could not do justice to its character as the world's leading trade fair for the glass industry. „The trade fair is and remains the most important global event for the glass industry, mechanical engineering and the skilled trades, and it brings people from all over the world together. One glasstec in 2021 will unfortunately not be able to fulfil this claim. The economic recovery in the glass industry has already begun and will once again make the trade fair an international happening for the glass industry in the coming year,“ says Egbert Wenninger, Chairman of the glasstec Advisory Board and Chairman of the VDMA Glass Technology Forum.
For 2022, the company is also working on a hybrid trade fair experience worked to facilitate digital participation in conferences and special shows such as the glass technology live to make this possible. glasstec 2022 will start with the registration portal for interested companies in June of this year.
