Gravion GmbH from Rheinfelden has won the TOP 100 innovation competition and now bears the TOP 100 seal 2025.

The award is only given to particularly innovative medium-sized companies. Science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate Gravion on this success at the award ceremony on 27 June in Mainz. He accompanies the TOP 100 innovation competition as a mentor.

The TOP 100 is reportedly based on a scientific selection process led by innovation researcher Prof Dr Nikolaus Franke. On behalf of Compamedia, the organiser of the competition, he and his team analysed the innovative strength of the participants on the basis of more than 100 test criteria, which were divided into five categories: Innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organisation, external orientation/open innovation and innovation success.

In essence, this is what the TOP 100 analysis is about, whether innovations are the result of structured innovation management in the company - or whether they arise by chance. „Innovation means acting instead of reacting,“ says Franke, „it means actively shaping the future instead of hoping that nothing will change.“

Gravion GmbH is one of the top innovators for the first time. The company is at home in the manufacture of embossing rollers for the tissue, packaging, box tape embossing, metal embossing, wallpaper embossing, plastic embossing, paper embossing, non-woven, pharmaceutical, automotive and many special embossing applications.

The Founder and Managing Director Dietmar Buchholz and his son Dominik Buchholz, who also works for the company see the future in the strategy of being the digital answer in the embossing roller industry. „We rely 100 per cent on digital data and have digitised everything that is possible to date,“ explains Dietmar Buchholz.
