GreenDot is strengthening its position in the European recycling market by integrating the French RG Group. This significantly increases the capacity for LDPE recycling.

The European recycling industry is facing the challenge of meeting the growing demand for recycled materials. GreenDot's market entry in France could make a decisive contribution here. By integrating the RG Group and its two LDPE recycling sites in Tence and Saint-Pal-de-Mons, GreenDot is significantly expanding its capacities. This expansion comes at a time when important local LDPE recyclers are withdrawing from the market, making the supply of recyclates more difficult.

Strategic importance of the French market

With the acquisition of the RG Group, GreenDot is strengthening its presence in one of the most important markets for plastics recycling in Europe. With its eco-modulation system, France offers strong incentives for the use of recycled plastics, which is further fuelling demand for high-quality recyclates.

Expansion of recycling capacities

The RG Group currently processes over 20,000 tonnes of LDPE film per year, with the possibility of expanding this capacity to over 35,000 tonnes. This will enable GreenDot to further consolidate its position as a leading provider of LDPE recycling. Eric Preynat, CEO of the RG Group, sees the collaboration with GreenDot as an opportunity to further professionalise recycling in France and make an important contribution to the European circular economy.

Supporting the circular economy

GreenDot is not only committed to expanding its recycling capacities, but also to promoting regional value creation cycles. The activities in the „Plastic Valley“ near Lyon support local industries in increasing their circularity, according to the company. The integration of the RG Group is a further step in GreenDot's strategy to promote the circular economy of plastic packaging in Europe.
