Grenadier Packaging has acquired the Dutch folding carton manufacturer MM Packaging Leeuwarden from Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG as of 31 December 2025. With this acquisition, the British packaging group is expanding its presence beyond its home market and strengthening its position in the European packaging market.

Grenadier Packaging has finalised the acquisition of MM Packaging Leeuwarden. The site in the Netherlands is an established manufacturer of folding cartons with long-standing customer relationships in the Netherlands and other European markets. The plant employs 52 people and will continue to operate as an independent unit at the existing site under the new owner. According to the company, no short-term changes to the product portfolio, management structure or supplier relationships are planned.

Focus on continuity and European orientation

With this acquisition, Grenadier Packaging is pursuing the goal of gradually expanding its international presence. The company points to a long-term perspective for the Leeuwarden site, combined with investments and the assurance of delivery capability, product quality and service continuity for customers.

„We are taking over MM Packaging Leeuwarden with a long-term perspective and great respect for the existing company. This acquisition is a well-considered move to expand Grenadier Packaging's presence beyond the UK market. It will allow us to better support customers with operations in multiple European markets and build a more resilient, diversified packaging group. Our focus remains clearly on continuity - supporting the existing team, ensuring service levels and responsible investment over time.“
