Visitor growth at trade fairs in Cairo

The Food Africa and pacprocess MEA trade fairs in Cairo recorded strong growth in 2024 with over 1,000 exhibitors from 35 countries and around 31,000 visitors. The events highlighted important industry topics such as sustainability, the circular economy and innovative packaging solutions.

From 3 to 5 December 2024, the Food Africa and pacprocess MEA at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre in Cairo once again served as central platforms for the food, beverage, processing and packaging industries in the MEA region and Africa. The trade fairs attracted around 31,000 visitors and, with more than 1,000 exhibitors from 35 countries, offered new opportunities for the industry. Record numbers of participants and exhibition space.

A special The highlights were the 14 country pavilions and the B2B matchmaking programme, which promoted dialogue between companies and potential partners. The accompanying conferences covered key industry topics such as Egypt's Vision 2030 for the food industry and sustainable packaging solutions. One focus of pacprocess MEA was on reducing food waste and promoting the circular economy.

The event was also supported by Political presence emphasised. At the opening ceremony, representatives of the Egyptian government emphasised the importance of trade fairs for the economic development of the region. The „Sustainability Design Award“ honoured innovative projects: Gold went to Multivac Sepp Haggenmüller, Silver to Theegarten-Pactec and Bronze to FIPCO. The next edition of both trade fairs is planned for 9 to 11 December 2025.
