Güttler Logistik GmbH has expanded its fleet: equipped with the latest safety technology, two new vehicles are now being used to transport gas cylinders on behalf of the Westfalen Group. A locking system developed by the customer not only increases load safety, but also reduces the effort required by Güttler's drivers to secure loads.
„While we primarily fulfil our customer's request for the highest safety standards with the new vehicles, the load securing system saves our drivers from having to use straps,“ says Tassilo Enke, dispatcher for hazardous goods at Güttler Logistik GmbH. Compared to the previous securing system, the automatic locking system not only reduces the risk of accidents during loading or lashing, but also the high wear and tear on lashing straps. In addition, around Use one hour of working time per driver for other purposes.
The ventilation openings inside the cargo holds, through which any escaping gas is channelled away, also contribute to the safety concept.
„Particularly with bottles that are taken back by DIY stores and are often not completely empty, residual gas can escape due to temperature changes,“ says dispatcher Tassilo Enke.
A turning assistant and an emergency brake assistant are also on board. In addition, the vehicles are equipped with a truck-mounted forklift, which enables the driver to load and unload if necessary.
From now on, the new articulated trains will be used in the Ulm and Nuremberg area, where Güttler also supplies numerous DIY stores, among others. The gas to be transported is mainly fuel and propellant gases such as propane and butane and, in some cases, technical gases.
