Harro Höfliger takes over Widmann

After more than 20 years of close business relations, Harro Höfliger takes over the business operations of Widmann Maschinen GmbH in Schlierbach on 1 April 2022.

After more than 20 years of close business relations, Harro Höfliger is taking over the business operations of Widmann Maschinen GmbH in Schlierbach on 1 April 2022. This creates a fifth location for the company, which specialises in pharmaceuticals and medical technology, and also takes over all employees and thus a well-established team.

Widmann machines builds and maintains series and special-purpose machines for the Packaging of food and cosmetics, in the automotive industry and medical technology are used. The family-owned company specialises in the manufacture of film processing and bag filling systems as well as the ultrasonic welding of film materials. 

„We are looking forward to the new production site and over 70 highly qualified, committed employees. We want to offer them a secure future on site. In our main sectors of pharmaceuticals and medical technology, the global market is constantly growing by six to eight per cent per year. This is also reflected in our steadily increasing order intake. Schlierbach is therefore a fixed factor in our medium-term planning.“

With the acquisition of Widmann Harro Höfliger strengthens its market position as a supplier of complete production solutions in the special machinery segment and complements its expertise in ultrasonic welding. In Schlierbach, the fast-growing Assembly Technologies division will have a second production and assembly site. This division specialises in automated assembly systems for the pre-assembly and final assembly of pharmaceutical and medical technology products, among other things.
