Hartmann Packaging A/S is expanding its presence in Eastern Europe and increasing its capacity for sustainable packaging solutions with the acquisition of Dentaş Romania.

The Danish packaging specialist Hartmann Packaging A/S is taking over the Romanian subsidiary SC Dentaş Romania SRL from Dentaş Kağıt Sanayi AŞ, a company of the Turkish Abalıoğlu Group. An agreement to this effect has been signed, but the completion of the transaction is still subject to regulatory approvals, according to reports.

The acquisition strengthens Hartmann's European presence in the area of pressed moulded fibre packaging - a segment that is becoming increasingly important. The site in Tărtăşeşti, Dâmboviţa County, has been active since 2004 and complements Hartmann's existing production capacities with a strategically favourable production site in South-Eastern Europe.

Dentaş focuses on core markets

Dentaş Kağıt Sanayi AŞ is one of the leading suppliers of moulded fibre packaging in Turkey, with plants in Denizli and Aksaray. The sale of the Romanian subsidiary is in line with the company's strategic reorientation towards its core markets.

Oğuz Abalıoğlu, representative of the main owner, emphasises: „We are proud of the development of Dentaş Romania. The handover to Hartmann means continuity under experienced management and offers new perspectives for employees, customers and our strategic profile.“

„With the integration of Dentaş Romania, we are gaining additional production capacity in an important growth market. This will improve our ability to meet the increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.“

The acquisition gives Hartmann a broader market coverage and strengthens the company's position as an international supplier of recyclable packaging, especially for sensitive products.
