Hastamat opened a new production hall in Lahnau on 21 November. With this building, the machine and system manufacturer is expanding its production area and optimising the processes for packaging solutions that are used worldwide.
The company celebrated the opening together with around 250 guests, including employees and their families as well as representatives from politics and business. Offices, meeting rooms, production areas and a technical centre were presented in the new hall. Guided tours provided insights into the current product portfolio and selected projects; a supporting programme with activities for children and an evening event rounded off the day.
Investment in efficient production and energy saving
The new production hall fulfils the requirements of efficiency house class 40 and is part of the sustainability strategy of Hastamat and the Piepenbrock Group. The building is equipped with a modern heat pump, a highly efficient ventilation system and LED technology throughout in order to reduce energy consumption and the associated CO₂ emissions. A new photovoltaic system, together with an existing system, provides a total output of over 600 kilowatt peak and covers a significant proportion of the site's electricity requirements, according to the statement.
