Henkel Adhesive Technologies is presenting its portfolio for sustainable and safe packaging solutions at Metpack in Essen. Visitors will gain insights into resource-saving and energy-saving surface treatments, coatings and sealants.

As a leading global expert in metal pre-treatment, Henkel Adhesive Technologies has been developing intelligent packaging solutions for food, beverages and household products for many years. The product portfolio focuses on the aspects of safety and sustainability - for example through the No raw materials such as bisphenol A (BPA) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).

At the world's leading trade fair for metal packaging from 2 to 6 May, Henkel will be presenting its Triple Safety programme, among other things. In order to eliminate risks for users, all substances are toxicologically assessed and eliminated if they prove to be harmful to health. In the area of sealants, Henkel relies on a Partnership with the Austrian Research and Testing Institute (OFI).

During a lecture at the Metpack Conference Henkel presents the Risk assessment of BPA-NI coatings for metal packaging with regard to food contact before. The manufacturer also refrains from using questionable substances in coatings to ensure food safety for humans and animals.

The product highlight in the surface treatment of beverage cans is the new low-temperature cleaner. When used in cleaning systems, Bonderite C-IC 72000 cleans at a lower temperature of 43°C (110°F) instead of the usual 60°C (140°F) of conventional cleaners. As a result, the product series reduces natural gas consumption and thus the system's carbon footprint. In addition to the energy savings, it produces less foam and thus optimises water consumption.

The manufacturer will be demonstrating how Henkel supports its customers in achieving their sustainability goals with exhibits such as food, beverage and aerosol cans. Visitors to the trade fair can also experience the production of beverage cans at first hand. From the coil to the moulded can understand.
