Hinojosa Packaging Group has finalised the acquisition of French packaging manufacturer ASV Packaging. This expands the company's presence in France and strengthens its position in the folding carton segment.
Following the 49 per cent stake acquired in 2023, the deal now marks the full integration of ASV Packaging, an established provider of folding cartons for the food and consumer goods sectors. With the merger, Hinojosa now operates seven production sites in France - including a paper plant, three corrugated board plants and ASV's three folding carton sites. Around 200 employees will join the group, bringing the total workforce to around 3,000.
Expansion of the portfolio and stronger market presence
Thanks to the integration, Hinojosa now offers a full range of packaging solutions in France: Folding cartons, trays for fresh produce, e-commerce packaging and displays. The group has a total of nine plants specialising in folding cartons in Spain, Portugal and France. The company relies on a decentralised management model, which is intended to give the individual sites greater flexibility and customer proximity.
Joint focus on sustainable innovation
According to the company, one focus of the expanded group is on innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. These include Halopack, a cardboard tray for fresh produce that replaces conventional rigid plastic trays. Hinojosa is the exclusive producer of this solution on the Iberian Peninsula, while ASV is responsible for production in France. Both companies are pursuing strategies that focus on recyclability, circular value creation and reducing the carbon footprint.
