Holmen launches particularly lightweight kraftliner on the market

To meet the growing demand for resource-saving and sustainable packaging solutions, Holmen Board and Paper has developed the lightweight kraftliner Holmen Elevate.

With Holmen Elevate, the company is introducing a new generation of lightweight kraftliners. The material is available in grammages of 72, 82 and 92 g/m² and, according to the company, is currently the lightest kraftliner on the market.

Areas of application include E-commerce packaging, shelf-ready solutions and food packaging. The aim is to reduce material consumption and emissions without compromising packaging quality.

Holmen Elevate is manufactured at the Braviken plant in Sweden. According to Holmen, the CO₂ emissions are 80 per cent below the industry average in Europe. Fresh fibres from sustainably managed forests are used, which are processed in an efficient supply system with wood from the neighbouring sawmill.
