„In order to return as many materials as possible to the cycle in favour of the environment, attention should already be paid to recyclability in the type and design of the packaging. Even simple changes have a positive effect on recyclability. We have launched the new webinar series to communicate this as efficiently and easily as possible.“

About „Made for Recycling“

In order to assess the recyclability of packaging, Interseroh, together with the environmental protection specialist bifa Environmental Institute developed a three-stage points system. In the first stage, it is determined whether the consumer has used the packaging to the correct recording system without any problems can. The second stage then examines how the packaging during the sorting process. Can the currently available sorting technologies allocate the packaging to the correct material fraction - or do certain materials prevent correct separation? In the third stage, we analyse whether the packaging Suitable for material recycling or whether, for example, labels, closures or barriers make recycling more difficult.

The more points the packaging achieves on a scale of 0 to 20, the easier and better it is to recycle. The service also fulfils „Made for recycling“ the requirements of the new law in force since 1 September 2019 Minimum standards for assessing the recyclability of packaging of the Central Agency Packaging Register Foundation (ZSVR).
